    Spring 2026 Litter

We are very pleased to announce our next planned breeding!

It's been a bit busy around here lately, and partially because we have been working hard putting together this next pairing! We are VERY excited. I will be updating information on applications and reaching out to waiting list individuals as soon as possible, if you are on the waiting list for our previous pairing, and need more immediate information about this, please feel free to reach out if I'm taking too long! coloradomoonmals@gmail.com or 720-238-5309.

    Expected Attributes:

We cannot wait to see what this pairing bring together!

The first thing I'd like to mention is that we are expecting this pairing to produce high-drive WORKING Malinois. Generally speaking, when breeding working class AKC registered purebred dogs, people tend to focus on either "conformation" or "working lineages". We breed from working lineages. These lineages are composed of dogs that display and have proven to contain characteristics that enable them fit to do "work". For Malinois, that can range from police and military, security, protection sports, herding, to agility, dock diving, SAR, and many more! They are very versatile, extremely athletic, intelligent, and highly trainable aniamls. Some (but not all) conformation lineages tend to focus more on how the dog is built and comes together, physically. These are the animals you might see in the show ring that display the perfect AKC breed standard for how the dog should look and act. While proper conformation is very important to us here, we choose to breed based on how that conformation performs while doing work, rather than visualizations alone.

These puppies will be working-line dogs. They will have have high drives, energy, and instincts inclined to do tasks. They will require firm, consitent, and continued training, extra mental stimulation, and a lot of physical exercise; more so than perhapse a mixed malinois or show-line malinois. Malinois get very bonded to their owner and families. They will not like to be apart from you - ever - and are often described as velcro dogs. This is not the type of dog that will do well being left alone for long periods of time, or the type that can be raised with little to no training. I do not recommend this breed for first time dog owners, or owners that haven't had experience with working breeds. These puppies are coming from parents that have a good balance of that working drive with sound temperaments that will also produce wonderful family compainions as long as their needs are understood and met. We can discuss all of this in depth during your adoption interview!

These will mature into balanced companions that can be brought up to suit your particular needs with whatever directional training and development you choose! A lot of an adult canine's disposition comes from nurture, not solely nature - meaning that life experiences, training, and love will be the bulk foundation to any dog's behavior, not only his or her genetics.

Coat colors and patterns that can be expected from this pairing are fawn, red, and mahognay - likely all with some varying degree of sabling. We could see either a white flash chest or no flash chest on these pups as well. We are expecting LARGE puppies from this pairing. Females ~ 65-75lbs, males up to 90lbs

    Anticipated Timing:

Lexi has not yet started her heat cycle, which should be coming soon. Once this heat cycle starts we will have a better estimate for breeding/whelping dates. We will be skipping this cycle and breeding during her following cycle in approximately six months, so this would be a breeding in Dec/Jan, whelping Feb/Mar, puppies ready to go home May/Jun. We do realize this delay might not be the best news for our excited wait-listers, and apologize for any inconvenience.

Whelping Malinois puppies is something we take very seriously around here and any breeding needs to be planned carefully. We have so much to consider before making this commitment, which is why we chose to delay our 2025 breeding. Thank you all so much for understanding! We have spent months selecting this pairing, diving back into lineages that can be tracked to the 1800s!

It is our duty as stewards to this breed to produce offspring responsibly, which are genetically and mentally sound, and that add quality individuals to the breed. It is then our duty to bring these puppies into a healthy and safe environment, and provide a start of life in a way that sets a proper foundation for a healthy and balanced adult. We then pass this duty on to future owners who then also become stewards of this breed. It's a big responsibility and commitment.

    Reservation List:

We will be starting to accept $500 non-refundable deposits to hold a specific pick order for these puppies. Meaning once the puppies are born and are developing, future owners will be able to select a puppy based on the order in which their deposit is paid. Any deposits made go toward the purchase price of the puppy. Please note that our puppy selection process starts around 4-6 weeks of age. We can start temperament/ drive assesmets around this time. Once we have a better of individual puppy's characteristics, we will recommend 2-3 puppies that we think will best fit each new owner's needs and desires, and we can begin the selection process in pick order. Please also note that we will likely hold back a female from this litter to remain with us at our kennel.

***Deposits made are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please ask any questions and assess your situation carefully before making a depost***

You must fill out the puppy application and complete a short interview before being approved for adoption and making a deposit.

    Wait List:

We will keep your contact information and contact you when our puppies arrive. No specific puppy will be reserved, and no pick order will be retained.

    General Information about this litter:

*These puppies will come AKC Registered to Colorado Moon Malinois Kennels, transfer of ownership will be provided.

*Each puppy will be coming with a LIMITED AKC registration. FULL AKC registration may be considered to select homes. (please inquire if interested)

    *All puppies will be microchipped.

*Puppies will be current on vaccinations and come with a health certificate, and a health guaruntee

*Puppies will be available to go to their new homes beginning at 10 weeks of age. (Please let me know if you prefer your puppy at 8 weeks, so we can discuss this in advance). Puppies kept passed 10 weeks may encure a weekly extended stay fee.

    Please note:

    - In the event that we have all males/females or very few of one or the other, a deposit can be held until the next litter, if a desired sex isn't available for you.

    - In the event that the breeding is unsuccesful, we will attempt the breeding again during the next heat cycle.

    - We have a good idea of the puppies produced with this pairing, but please understand that genetic inheritance is a true gamble. We cannot guarantee coat colors or paterns and will not be holding deposits for anything other than a sexed pick order. Dispositions and drive in puppies is something that develops with time. While we observe, interact, test, and begin training from birth, dispositions, temperament, and drive cannot start to be assesed until 6 weeks of age, and can change and develop as they age.
